We end up with a busted grill. (Teeth, for those that don't understand slang.)
This is what apu sent mom while she was sitting in her business class! Mom closed her eyes and asked the universe to get out of class early, so she could go home...and the universe listened!!!! She's been sitting in class ALL week, until the very last second, so it was not expected. Ask, and you shall receive!
I fell on my motor scooter, and thankfully survived with just a bloody mouth. You know that skin thingy that connects your gums to your top lip? Yea, that no longer exists. Bummer!
It also means that I have to drink milk through a straw!
Pompom actually fell asleep like this. Poor thing was slightly exhausted from our big trip across the ocean. But don't worry, she bounced back at 11pm and stayed up until 4am!
Apu's first course of business was to buy a skateboard, which is now scratched from all the kids at the playground. Apu has yet to ride the aforementioned skateboard. Mom is bracing herself for the call from the neighbors saying apu's leg is missing.
The boys enjoyed it as well, and we're oddly good at riding.
Isak was probably a pro in his past life or something.
Mom was almost late to her meeting with a new business connection, and also got ANOTHER lecture from la directrice at school, for not registering me properly. Just another day in the land of croissants and attitude! And mom still loves it just as much!
Was a huge hit! We danced the night away under bubbles and lights and got to see some animals (although the parents seemed more interested in the socializing and the beer).
We spent an evening with our friends, who always keep the parents busy. Mainly the other parents, who not only feed mom and Apu, but basically take care of us while mom and Apu socialize. They are the best...and so are our friends. We played dress up and ate tri-tip, which basically means our lives are complete.
But as if that wasn't enough, mom found us unicorn leggings at Target for $4! Seriously, guys, we're moving here!
We've all been feeling a tad yucky, although nothing really dramatic, thankfully! Mom has tried to sneak in a nap everyday this week and just ends up feeling yuckier.
BUT, I always manage to make her laugh.
This is my teacher and my buddy Arabelle, who tends to have this reaction pretty regularly while in class.
This is Pompom just casually sitting around...which is shockingly similar to apu's usual appearance while in the apartment.
We had lunch with friends at McDonalds. (First and last time, by the way!)
And this was the first and last time Pompom will be allowed alone with markers...
Greener grass, maybe? Ohhhh, I remember those days well.
Always looking to that next achievement...
A bigger house and a faster car (a Dodge Challenger to be exact)...
That master's degree (that cost me as much as a house)...
But it hit me the other day...
All I want is what I have, NOW...
My best buddy who drives me nuts, but whom I couldn't live without. My family, one special person in particular. The funny girls who I have the privilege of raising. My awesomely hysterical friends. France. Lyon. Good food. Our small apartment (little critters included). I LOVE IT ALL.
EVERY.
SINGLE.
THING.
And I know it's temporary. Because it always is. And that's ok.
