Home, sweet home.

We survived the trip back home without any tantrums! A new record!!! Pompom and I are still coughing, and turns out, when we're sick, we sleep more. Mom didn't mind that at all!

And it's cold and raining in San Diego. Go figure!

How?!!?

Does Apu ALWAYS manage to avoid the germs?!?!

Thankfully, it appears that all parties involved have survived without major  deficiencies. Second stomach bug in three weeks...a new Hungarian record.

We're still sick...

And you can tell simply based on the condition of my hair.

But, despite our germs, we managed to have a little fun...at Pompom's expense.
And the best news of all....Apu is almost on the flight home (after a very dramatic morning).

Without them, mom would be lost!

Watch out.

Pompom is ALL over the place, standing and now eating as much as dad.
Mom snapped this picture and then told me it was dangerous to put things on Pompom's head. Which is it, mom?
The remnants of the bone broth soup mom BOUGHT...not made...sorry to disappoint my followers.
Conspiring to take over the world...

Budapest Family Photography

Ok, so in an attempt to shamelessly market my new endeavor, I'm adding it here.
I didn't major in marketing, but I do love taking pictures!

Seriously, I feel like this is my way of spreading love, even if that sounds totally hippy-esque. There's nothing better than a mama (or a devoted dad) with their baby. To give another parent the gift of remembering their kids when they are small (and before they're hormonal), makes me feel like I'm doing something positive in the world.

Christmas market WITHOUT US!!!

Ok, so mom has been to the Christmas market like 797 times without me!! But at least she made another kid happy!

She was gone for two hours, and everyone survived! Someone even used the Tula out of complete desperation!
Thanks, aunt Sandra! Pompom was getting loud!

Heck no!!!

I'm NOT giving you your bottle back. Do you know how long I fought to get it in the first place?!

Everyone is sick.

Except dad, who's drinking Mimosas on the beach.

Did I mention it was snowing here in Budapest the other day?

Thanks to me and germ infested kids at nursery, mom was up at 2:30am praying to the porcelain gods. This is mom's worst nightmare come true! I rule.
All she can do is take pictures because she feels so sick. Thankfully, Pompom and I still have enough energy to destroy the ENTIRE apartment, mainly with bodily fluids that don't smell very nice! And scream. Really loud.

Thanksgiving Feast!

Not the best picture, but I assure you, the food was DELICIOOOUS! My new favorite word.
Aside from the food, I mainly picked my nose and put my fingerprints all over their clean windows.
That's Pompom in the lower left corner in a DRESS!
She was kissing ALL the boys when mom and dad weren't looking! It was a successful night all around!!

A FULL Saturday...

Literally.
That's an aerial view of the living room, approximately 24 hours after we paid our cleaning lady 8,000ft to bring some order to our lives. Toddlers are the equivalent of an Category 5 hurricane.

Any who, we went swimming today at our friend's place. They have an elevator IN THEIR HOUSE...and an indoor heated pool. Life is rough here in the Bloc.
Pompom wasn't 100% thrilled...but I was even less cooperative, opting to get only two TOES wet. Thankfully, it gave mom a chance to annoy everyone with her new hobby...mainly snapping pictures of the dads in their speedos. The moms were happy to get pictures of their babies, so it was semi tolerable.
Pompom and I fell asleep in the car on the way home, and thwarted mom and apu's lunch plans...

So this is what ensued...

A rotisserie chicken from a FURNITURE STORE in the front seat of our borrowed car. Friends, we are living the posh life, trust me.

Seriously, this was dangerous between the chicken grease and pickles. Good thing we get to return it. I'm sure nagymama won't mind the chicken skin under her seat. It adds flavor.

And tomorrow, we meet our mixed nationality baby friends for Thanksgiving. The adults consist of three Americans, a Brit, an Aussie, an Italian, and four Hungarians (if you include dad, which most people don't)...whom we all blame for being here!

Mom is buying her "homemade" mashed potatoes from the corner restaurant...who was warned last week to buy extra potatoes! But don't tell...she's totally ok letting the other parents believe she's rocking motherhood! This is what mom is actually doing Sunday morning...chillin'! Not in the sink, but only because she doesn't fit.
But I'm sure Dad will spill the beans about the food after a glass of wine! He's known as the honorary mom in the group...meaning he gossips just as much as the rest of us moms.

Windy November.

The fam went to the fancy Christmas market and ended up eating Mexican food...pretty typical of a half American family, I'd say. I was stuck at nursery, but the parents promised to go again with me.

Mom is not very nice.

At 8am, she declared we were all getting dressed and going to take pictures. She made us break the rules, by jumping a fence in the park! It was cold, I was scared, and I cried a little in protest! But, it turned out to be a pretty fun day, and I got to play in all the leaves because no people are allowed in the area! Let's hope mom doesn't get arrested...although it may help her language skills.

Mom's first appointment!

Albeit, free. Mom will be taking pictures of a baby wearing fanatic, who will most likely direct MOM on how to get the perfect shot!
In the meantime, she'll be taking more pictures of me and my awesome wardrobe!

Mom designed the website herself! Which is probably why it won't work. Good luck!
