Easter Birthday

We arrived back in the land of sunshine and friendly people, and then proceeded to sleep until 4pm. Nagymama and nagypapa picked us up from the airport, and because nagymama didn't have me to play with for the last three months, she spot cleaned our apartment and decorated.
Our Chirstmas tree is also still up.
Mom now feels like a total jerk, because all she brought back as a gift was a $20 vase from Old Town. Thankfully, great-grandma Manou's handwritten letter will overshadow mom's lack of proper manners.

Also, Pompom spent most of her birthday flying over the Atlantic and asleep. Thankfully, nagypapa and nagymama also brought her balloons because mama and apu are not so big on birthday extravaganzas.
And now we're eating breakfast at 6pm. Life is pretty exciting, but we do miss San Diego a tad...mainly mom, who discovered she may still have grounds to pull out the Ugg boots.

Mermaids and Meerkats

Kept me company on the 10 hour flight to London. We both slept, the parents did not, and we're now eating at our usual airport pub.

Disneyland adventures.

The hotel water park was, by far, the highlight of our trip. Turns out, I'm also a hit with the opposite sex. Must have been the revealing bathing suit.
I caught some rays while Apu fanned me with the towel, but he forgot the grapes.
Wednesday, we went down for breakfast and low and behold, there was a tv AT THE TABLE. This really upset Apu, the true European, who reminded mom why he never wants to move to the US permanently.
We then went over to Disneyland and I was totally unimpressed with the princess castle mom kept building up. It was just, "ok."
My absolutely dream came true when mom, despite her better judgment, spent $50 on the most glittery dress in existence. (I have since worn this dress for the last four days non-stop.)
We took one last dip in the pool before heading back to San Diego. Overall, it was a pretty fun three days!

Life of the party.

Pompom is one wild child!
After a trip to Old Town and a mega margarita, Pompom had everyone's attention.
Baby card tricks, anyone!?
I'm more of a low-key, happy apple juice drinker. I just want to hug everyone and save all the cats.
And then I rode around on dad, who may or may not have been walking under the influence.

Dancing Princess.

For some reason tights on my head really  make me feel beautiful! They just make me want to dance!

In more exciting news, Apu used his hotel points and we're going to Disneyland next week! I know, I'm probably too young to fully enjoy the madness, but I think mom wants to give me the full SoCal experience before heading back to the Bloc, where things are a tad on the slow side.

4:30 on a Monday...

We were at Target...

And then this happened!!!

We BOTH fell asleep, and mom shopped in peace!! A Christmas miracle!!! In March...

Ladies and gents!!!

Pompom can now stand unassisted!!
I, on the other hand, fell on my face and busted my lip.
And I screamed so much that I fell asleep ON mom, which hasn't happened in decades.
Boy, do I HATE blood. Like, majorly. But I'm ok now...although I'm recounting the story to anyone that will listen.

Ten thousand and counting!

Hugs? Nooooooooo.

Kisses from mom?? Nooooooo.

Number of times I've used the word "no" since I came into existence?! Quite possibly, but no.

Ten thousand DOLLARS for a night in the ER...so far. Although no one can confirm an exact amount.

I'm thinking they accidentally charged mom for her cup of radioactive Gatorade!! A Dixie cup to be exact.

So, this, my dear friends, is why mom is pretty supportive of a socialist system that most Americans tend to vilify.  (PS, we pay legitimate taxes here in Hungary and it comes to a whopping 16%. So please don't start with that BS.)

The evening Pompom was admitted to the hospital (and diagnosed with cancer for two hours...oh, whoops, sorry about that), mom spoke with three genius doctors (who all charged $500 for about two minutes of rolling their eyes at mom). Little did she know that was the cheap part of her future bill.

As it turns out, the beautiful parking structure and fancy machines (most of which happened to not be working on the night of the incident, oddly) can not be funded by those who don't fall in line.
This is a picture of the broken thermostat, which led to the third ice age in room 244. Talk about luxury.

Mom isn't shocked by any means. She is, however, slightly annoyed that after five attempts at contact with the billing department, she still has yet to receive her bill in the mail from the hospital. Five unanswered messages with four different people. Coincidence?

So this is a list of things that mom "thinks" can be added up to come out to $10k.

-Unused IV fluids
-Unecessary IV antibiotics
-Dixie cup of Gatorade
-Two pieces of tissue paper
-Bedsheets in broken crib/rusty crib
-Bedsheets on broken couch in room
-Three sheets of toilet paper used to in the bathroom
-Extra fancy diaper used to cover Pompom's IV
-Subtitles on tv for American Idol

(Edit: $10,541.00 is the final total!)

Ok, good, now looking at this list it's clear that this should all add up to $10,000! I mean it was the equivalent to a night at the most exclusive 5-star hotel in the Maldives with a private gormet chef!!!

So, as much as mom is an American by birth, she's not exactly "proud" to be an American at this point. All she knows is that if, God forbid, anyone actually gets cancer, we won't be staying in the good ole' US of A.
This here is the bag of GOLD, that you can clearly see, did NOT end up in Pompom's body because her IV fell out and was never reconnected.

Lesson: Stick to your guns and listen to your gut! Mom's lack of confidence just cost her a brand new car!!
