BudaPEST

And we're back...

The first day in Budapest was spent doing a LOT OF PAPERWORK!

Pompom's passport expired and Mom and Apu have lost our address cards. Mom had to close her SECRET bank account, which she didn't know hadn't been reported to the Feds (huge bummer)!

We did have lunch at our favorite restaurant in town for a whopping $30 (one thing we definitely miss about Hungary).

Oh, Paris.

So mom does have this bizarre interest in France, which is good, considering the amount of paperwork that we have to deal with.

She spent the weekend in Paris with a friend from Budapest. The weekend included, but was not limited to:

-A blissful train ride with a real life book.
-Laughing a LOT
-A new, very stylish jean jacket (although that's up for debate)
-Dinner on the Seine which subsequently led to drinks with the waiter, and for once it wasn't Mom being the scandalous one.
-The French élections.
-Lots of smog.
-New French shoes.

Mom thinks this is pretty successful for three days.

Not a bad view.

The French gentleman who somehow ended up at our Airbnb...don't judge.

Jeans jackets are still in!!!

The sun is shining!

And mom has been spending much of her time reading and listening to audio books! Time to get it together mom.

I, on the other hand, am fully embracing summer by wearing my new sun hat!

Which helped me recover from my big fall, that led to a big bandaid!
Pompom was so tired of me screaming about it that she passed out next to me...

Thankfully, mom's friends force her to stay outside and drink coffee!

And mom even took her camera out to celebrate Isak's birthday!

Stay at home mom-ness.

It only took mom four years to get the hang of this mom business. Every now and then, she's really proud of conquering the week!

Yesterday we went to Les Halles (which I say with a proper French accent now)! This is a BIG deal. It's a 30 minute walk, and with two toddlers and no Apu, it can often be challenging. Mom took the risk and it was SO worth it! We all had a blast with our friends!

One of mom's BFFs used to be a true Lyonnaise chef in her past life and told mom what to do with her 20€ fish! Thankfully she didn't screw it up! That would have been an expensive mistake. (That's fresh thyme by the way!) BAM! Mom even made crepes last week! What is going on? She's like a REAL MOM!

Pompom's new trick is going cross-eyed.  Mom is always setting her up for success.

Signs...

So we've been talking about going to Colmar (a town about three hours away by car). Mom discovered that the movie "Beauty and the Beast" was based there, and we JUST watched it, and I LOVE IT.

We plan to go when Apu gets home, and Mom opened the calendar to see what days could possibly work...

And this is what she saw...

There are no descriptions on the page about the picture, or where it is...

But Mom KNEW!

Mom is taking this pretty seriously...
